Dressed in tones of blue and gold, this indulgent design from the Portofino watch collection by IWC Schaffhausen pays homage to the company’s traditional watchmaking crafts and a purist dial. The timepiece, as with all Portofino watches, is inspired by the Italian fishing village and incorporates several elegant finishing touches into its design. The feuille shaped hands, for example, are sculpted to the micrometre. The slim golden stick indexes on the hour track are needle fine and mixed with traditional Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. Aside from the minute scale around the outer edge of the track and the “IWC Schaffhausen” lettering at 12 o’clock, the only other detailing on the dial of this 40mm men’s IWC Portofino watch is the date window located at 3 o’clock.
Anti reflective sapphire glass protects the surface of the dial and its refined golden appliques. Inside the body of the watch is an impeccably crafted in house movement. The Calibre 35111 is capable of a 42 hour power reserve and performs at an impressive rate of 28,800 vibrations. Its 163 individual hand arranged components work in harmony with one another inside a robust 30 meter water resistant stainless steel case. The IWC Portofino watch is completed on a classic black leather strap and a traditionally styled steel buckle.
